Here are things you probably won’t win: The Lottery, A Nobel Prize, The Presidential Election, A Marathon, but there is only one thing you can’t win.
The youth are running a new thing every Wednesday and Sunday. Simply put, it’s called “You Can’t Win.” The way it works is that you pay a quarter for a raffle spot. We’ll draw one name every time and they’ll have one chance to answer seven questions. If they miss one question the game is over for them and we’ll give someone another chance the next time we get together.
The first to answer all seven questions gets half of whatever we’ve collected. Right now you’d get right around 3 dollars. That number is just going to keep growing though, because you can’t win.
Let Micheal Jackson tell you all about it in this video from 1984’s “The Wiz” after the jump.

MAKE SURE YOU VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE SHIRT!!!
It was truly epic! Everyone there had a really great time, I know I did. I climbed the hardest side of the rock wall and barely made it. I feel pretty hardcore though since I haven’t done anything athletic in a while. Enough about me, let’s talk about how tight the Luau was.
House of Thomas killed it! They were amazing and really went way above and beyond anything anyone expected. Shea was great as usual, he even got me up on stage for a song, which was very unexpected since I did really know the song he sang that super well. Still the music was stinking awesome.
The food was epic as well. Lots of food for really cheap. I want to give a shout out to all the places that donated food.
- Slopes BBQ
- Ingles
- Barbecue Street
- Cody J’s
Lot’s of help from all over the community, not to mention On Fire Ministries. Everything about this was so great that we’re planning the next one now. Thanks to everyone who came out!
We plan on getting pictures up soon.

First the super cool news! I’ve locked in the worship leader for Disciple Now. His Name is Shea (that’s him on the right) and he is a homegrown product of Cartersville. I’m so excited to have someone with his level of talent and his heart for ministry as a part of our youth event.
Shea is going to have his merchandise for sale if you are interested during D-Now.
The other news is that Floyd Creek is not going to be able to face off against us this Saturday in Softball. We’re going to reschedule. But, I wanted everyone to know that we will not be playing softball this Saturday. My guess is because they got scared.
Remember! Be signed up for Disciple Now by Sunday!
