Last night we learned that anything can be used to glorify God, even things that you wouldn’t think of, like candy.  I hope that you all take that idea and use it the rest of the week to focus yourselves on God and what He’s doing around you.  Maybe you’ll see something that will remind you of some scripture or something will happen and give you an opportunity to share what’s going on in your life with someone who needs Good News.

Man, you guys really came out in force for this one.  Everyone has an opinion when it comes to politics, and you guys and girls are no exception.  Thanks to all of you who took the time to vote and make sure that you vote on our new poll.  I’d love to see what you like and what maybe isn’t your favorite part of Wednesday nights.

About these results though, 87% of you are concerned about the economy!  Do you think that Obama will be able to turn it around?  Which leads to the next 73% of you who wanted a President with Leadership Experience.  I’d love to hear from you guys and see if you think Obama has the chops to be President.

Tied with Leadership was a concern about the management of the current war.  Are you all happy about Obama, do you think he’ll take the country the right way with foreign policy and deal with the current war appropriately?

Then we have religion at 67%.  What is Obama’s particular views.  He’s a member of a liberal Christian church, but that doesn’t stop people from saying he’s a Muslim.  What do you think, do his religious views match up with yours?  For me, my view of abortion is deeply rooted in my religious views.  With another 67% of the vote you thought it was just as important as religion.  So do you think that Obama will be a positive or negative force about abortion?

Health Care (53%)  being slightly less important but still trumping Immigration (40%).  It’s funny because I thought immigration would have been more important.  I think 6 months ago it would have beaten out the economy.  What do you think?

Then there is the Environment.  Not a lot of love for ol’ Momma Earth with you all.  She only gets 40% of your vote.  Which is sizable, but still in the bottom three.

Rounding out the bottom you’ve got two randomly dissimilar topics.  Gay Marriage and Social Security, one is very much so a moral and ethical choice which raises questions about the nature of people, while the other is all about money.  They respectively got 20 and 13 percent of your votes.

That’s would be the headline for our newspaper, if we had a newspaper.  I wish everyone could have come with us to see Team Impact.  Seriously, a guy bent and broke an aluminum baseball bat over his leg.  Some of the feats of strength were genuinely crazy.  From men testing the limits of hot water bottle warranties to guys absolutely destrying some bricks.  We saw a lot of destruction and heard a few cool testimonies.  Did I mention a guy ran through 8 man sized blocks of ice?  Well, he did.  Check it out.

The fall festival, November 1st,  is a really cool community involved opportunity for us as a youth group to help out.  We are going to be helping with the rummage sale part of the fall festival.  If you can be at the church that day, we want and need your help, if you can be at the church at 8AM . . . that’s even better.

We need your help moving stuff and being general crowd control.  So, come on guys and gals, help us get rid of some of our debt and have a great time doing it.
